Recovery at Work Event Series

The Wellness Council of Indiana (WCI) in collaboration with the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, Division of Mental Health and Addiction is offering Recovery at Work, a statewide training series designed to help employers build supportive, recovery-ready workplaces.

Substance use disorder (SUD) continues to impact employees, families and workplaces across Indiana. In 2022, 30.1 million U.S. workers experienced SUD, and more than 52% of organizations reported negative effects such as absenteeism and reduced productivity. While employers play a critical role in prevention and response, many are unsure where to begin or how to strengthen their efforts.

This two-part training series is designed to help employers foster awareness, reduce stigma and build supportive, recovery ready workplaces.

What to Expect:

  • Part one explores the impact of substance use disorder in Indiana and the workplace, connects participants to local resources and shares best practices.
  • Part two offers recovery support strategies, including legal guidance from WCI’s partners at Krieg DeVault and hands-on training in Naloxone/Narcan administration for workplace settings.

Whether you’re just starting or expanding your efforts, you’ll gain practical tools, insights and partnerships that make a difference. Part one and two are valuable standalone experiences. However, attendees will gain the most by participating in both days as the two parts build on each other.

These training opportunities will be held in seven counties statewide, with WCI hosting two convenings per location. All trainings will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET (Vanderburgh County CT) and are free and open to employers of all sizes and industries. SHRM/HRCI credits are available for attendees.
