The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that the Delta variant, a more transmissible and possibly more dangerous strain of COVID-19, now makes up more than half of all new infections in the United States. According to CDC, people who are fully vaccinated have a high degree of protection against COVID-19, including against the Delta variant. Federal health officials warn that the variant poses a ‘significant threat’ to unvaccinated people, especially in areas of the country where vaccination rates are low.
