Heather Sittler, health strategist, Hylant
Board Member, Wellness Council of Indiana
Wellness Council of Indiana (WCI): How long have you been a board member of the Wellness Council of Indiana?
Heather Sittler (HS): Over five years.
WCI: What do you enjoy most about the health and well-being field?
HS: I impact lives. The work I do with employers to create strategic wellness offerings helps individuals make healthier choices that result in more birthdays, higher satisfaction and happier lives.
WCI: What is your prediction for the top health/well-being trend in 2018?
HS: Employers will begin to focus on wellness initiatives beyond physical health. The focus will shift away from the fiscal return on investment to the value and the improved employee experience.
WCI: Why do you think workplaces should invest in employee well-being?
HS: An investment in wellness is an investment in their most valuable asset – the employees. Wellness investments enhance the culture of the company and positively impact the employee experience, making it possible to attract higher quality workers.
WCI: What do you like to do in your free time?
HS: I’m a conglomeration of eclectic tastes and hobbies. I enjoy everything from gaming to classical pursuits such as reading. I’ve been in the Army Reserves for over 22 years.
