This eight-hour course utilizes role play\, scenarios\, and activities to demonstrate how to offer initial help in a mental health crisis and connect persons to the appropriate professional\, peer\, social and self-help care. \nMHFA takes the fear and hesitation out of starting conversations about mental health and substance use problems by improving understanding and providing an action plan that teaches people to safely and responsibly identify and address a potential mental illness or substance use disorder. \nTraining is intended for all employees of your organization who wish to learn and support mental health well-being efforts. Required two-hour online pre-work will need to be completed prior to attending training. DESCRIPTION:Saving a Life: QPR and Naloxone Training introduces participants to suicide prevention and intervention by building understanding of common myths\, warning signs\, and key risk and protective factors. The training develops practical skills to recognize crisis situations and respond safely and effectively using core QPR (Question\, Persuade\, Refer) techniques. Participants also learn how to identify the signs of an opioid overdose\, understand how Naloxone/Narcan works\, and follow step-by-step actions that can save a life in an emergency. \nThis training builds confidence and reduces fear and hesitation when responding to someone experiencing suicidal thoughts or an opioid overdose emergency by providing clear\, evidence-based action steps and guided practice. Participants learn how to connect individuals in crisis to appropriate professional\, community and emergency support.\nTraining is intended for all employees of your organization who wish to learn and support these lifesaving efforts. After the first two hours of this training\, you become certified in QPR. Participation in the Naloxone & Opioid Overdose Response Training is optional and included in the cost of the combined training. This eight-hour course utilizes role play\, scenarios\, and activities to demonstrate how to offer initial help in a mental health crisis and connect persons to the appropriate professional\, peer\, social and self-help care. \nMHFA takes the fear and hesitation out of starting conversations about mental health and substance use problems by improving understanding and providing an action plan that teaches people to safely and responsibly identify and address a potential mental illness or substance use disorder. \nTraining is intended for all employees of your organization who wish to learn and support mental health well-being efforts.
