We know that good workers are hard to find and retain. An increasing dilemma has been what to do about quality employees or prospects who test positive on a drug test or alcohol assessment. This event will showcase successful strategies being implemented by Indiana businesses, and use case studies and stories to guide participants through a facilitated process of evaluation and discussion.
Jim has been an employee at your company for nine years. Historically, Jim has met all the standards for his position and even exceeded some. He is a pleasure to be around and has always been a very social person. Over the last year, however, you have begun to notice some issues. Jim has been late multiple times, missed a few deadlines, no longer engages in company events and doesn’t seem to be taking care of himself like he used to. You wonder, “What is going on with Jim?” … then Jim comes into work slurring his words, falling asleep at his desk and seeming very “out of it.” You refer Jim to a drug test based on reasonable suspicion and it comes up positive; what happens now?
Jane is interviewing for a job at your company. She has the necessary industry credentials to perform the assigned duties and responsibilities and seems like she could be a great fit for your company, But Jane’s pre-employment drug test comes up positive. Would you like to know how to direct Jane to care and potentially hire and retain her?
